On 10 March 2015, the Nairobi Securities Exchange announced that it had officially joined United Nation’s Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative.

By joining the SSE, the NSE hopes to assure its regulator, shareholders, employees, listed firms, market intermediaries, investors and the general public, commitment to promote integrated reporting on environmental, social and governance issues in Kenya.
