KAZAKHSTAN: KACD Updates its Depository Rules

On 17^th May 2018, the Kazakhstan Central Depository updated its CSD Rules.

These rules govern the functions and operations of the Depository.

 Article 7 of the Updated Rules defines the Depository’s Functions as being the following:

• depositary activity;
• activities to maintain a system of registers of holders government securities
• activities related to maintaining the system of shareholder registers the registrar
• certain types of banking operations;
• activities of other types not prohibited for implementation The Company by applicable law.

The updated rules are now effective.
