The Japanese Financial Services Agency has published a translated Guidebook (English) which outlines the regulatory framework facing foreign asset managers wishing to establish a business base in Japan.

The report was commission by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, with the cooperation of the Financial Services Agency, to provide a useful source of information for foreign asset managers interested in expanding their business into Japan. The Report highlights the significant opportunities in the Japanese asset management industry as well as the rules and administrative procedures for foreign asset managers to successfully enter the market.
