Further to the update of 2 August, the Japanese Financial Services Authority has further extended its temporary measures on Japan short selling and the purchase of own shares. Naked short selling remains prohibited, with a disclosure requirement of short sales exceeding, in principle, 0.25%, to exchanges through securities firms. The relaxation of measures regarding the purchase of own stocks by listed companies have also been extended.
