ITALY: Temporary prohibition on Italy short selling in Monte dei Paschi di Siena and TOD`s

The Italian regulator CONSOB has announced a temporary Italy short selling prohibition in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena spa (BMPS) shares (ISIN code: IT0004984842) and TOD`s shares (ISIN code: IT0003007728) both on the MTA, a regulated market organised and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A

The prohibition does not apply to the activity of market making, as defined by Article 2(1)(k) of the EU Short Selling Regulation.

The prohibition is in place until midnight on Monday 11th August.
