ITALY: Prohibition on Italy short selling in shares of Banca MPS S.p.A.

The Italian securities regulator Consob has announced a prohibition of Italy short selling in BMPS shares (ISIN code: IT0001334587) on the MTA, a regulated market organised and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., under Article 23 of the EU Short Selling Regulation

The prohibition takes effect from 15.05 CET of April 15, 2014 to the end of the trading day of April 16, 2014.

The prohibition does not apply to the activity of market making, as defined by Article 2(1)(k) of the Regulation.
