ITALY: Consob publishes details for reporting of Italy net short selling positions in shares and the exemption for market maker activities on shares under EU Short Selling Regulation

The Italian Regulator, Consob, has launched its online platform for the reporting of Italy net short selling positions in shares. Registration, reporting of positions and cancellation of erroneous notifications are completed via the platform. A user manual has also been published and a section of Consob’s website has been dedicated to the public disclosure of significant Italy net short selling positions. An email notification of the intention to avail of the exemption must be forwarded to shortselling-service@consob.it and a hard copy must then be sent to Consob, Divisione Mercati, Ufficio Post-Trading, Via G.B. Martini, 3-00198, Rome (Italy).
