Focus: Stock Exchanges Acquisition

On 29th November 2017, Euronext announced that it had acquired the Irish Stock Exchange. This development means that Euronext will add Ireland to its sixth core European company.

This development will be of significance to companies currently listed on the exchange as this acquisition will likely lead to changes in procedure and regulation.

One particular regulation that may arise from this development is the introduction of Harmonised Rules on the Exchange which is a uniform Rulebook applicable to all Euronext Exchanges.  The acquisitions is not yet finalised and the transaction is subject to regulatory approval, the final decision is expected to be made in the first quarter of 2018.
