On 8th February 2018, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) signed a cooperation agreement with the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF).

The CSA, is a council composed of provincial and territorial securities regulators in Canada, it is responsible for coordinating and harmonizing the regulation of Canada’s capital markets. The AMF is an independent public authority responsible for ensuring that savings invested in financial products are protected and that investors are provided with adequate information and for supervising the orderly operation of markets.

This agreement will allow the CSA territories and AMF to exchange information on companies operating in both countries.

This agreement extends the work of the CSA Regulatory Sandbox and the AMF’s FinTech Innovation and Competitiveness Division, it provides a solid environment for businesses to develop innovative solutions in the financial sector. It will help these companies in their regulatory journey in both countries and will track market developments to identify and propose answers to questions that may emerge.
