The Government of Indonesia, to simplify the investment process and increase the country`s economic growth, has issued Presidential Decree No. 36 of 2010 amending existing restrictions on Indonesia foreign investment and also the provisions of the Negative List, the list of business which is closed to foreign investment.Various reforms are introduced, including reform of rules on expansion of existing businesses, mergers acquisitions and amalgamations within the same business line, and the increase of foreign participation levels in certain sectors, including public works industries in construction (from 55% to 67%), and the health sector in hospital services, clinics of specialist doctors, clinic laboratories and medical check-up clinic (from 65% to 67%, and the activities can now be carried out throughout Indonesia).
