It is being reported that market regulator SEBI has started the review process of the implementation of the India takeover code regulations. News reports indicate that the regulator has already started receiving feedback on the rules, but currently it is not known what changes are likely to be introduced in the revised regulations.

The India takeovers regime is regulated by the SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations 2011, enacted in September 2011, and replacing the previous rules dating back to 1997. On enacting the rules, SEBI stated that a review of the implementation of the rules would be carried out within a year of their introduction.

This information will be updated as further details become available.
