It has been reported that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has requested for information to be communicated to them in order to ascertain FII groups having common ultimate/ end beneficial ownership with all current registered FII or sub accounts; or who are in the process of registration. For this purpose, India FIIs should consider all such entities having direct or indirect common shareholding/ beneficial ownership/ beneficial interest of more than 50 per cent, as a part of their group.
The information must be sent to SEBI by May 31, 2012.
