The Finance Minister has announced changes to India foreign investment caps in several industries.

Foreign investment in the defence sector is being increased from the current 26% to 49%, while the cap in the insurance sector is being increased to 49% from the current 26%.

Both sectors will continue to require full Indian management and control through the FIPB route.
