It is being reported that the Indian Government is set to permit India (FDI) foreign direct investment in limited liability partnership firms in sectors where 100% FDI is already permitted through the automatic route. The new proposals, which are set to be introduced next month, would have several clauses attached, FDI in LLPs will not be permitted in agriculture, plantation and real estate sectors, for instance. Another proviso will be that foreign capital participation in the capital structure of the LLP will only be permitted via cash consideration.
