It has been reported that India has indefinitely delayed the possibility of raising the limit on India foreign direct investment in insurance firms. The change, according to reports, may not be brought in until after the 2014 elections.

This delay comes after several India foreign investment reform steps have been blocked by members of the Indian government, including the decision, reported on 1 May, 2012, to not allow foreign direct investment in the Indian airline industry.
