HONG KONG: Update on Hong Kong Short Position Reporting

The Hong Kong Short Position Reporting (SPR) Service Pilot Run (Pilot) has ended on 8 June 2012. Short Position Reporting ID (SPRID) assigned during the Pilot will be invalidated after the Pilot. The earliest date possible to register to obtain a new SPRID for official reporting is 18 June 2012 when the Hong Kong Short Position Reporting Rules come into operation and the SPR Service officially goes live. The first date of reporting day and reporting deadline will be 22 June 2012 and 26 June 2012 respectively.

A revised User Guide and Frequently Asked Questions have been published on the SFC’s website.

The List of Specified Shares (List) for reporting day of 22 June 2012 and onward will be published on 18 June 2012.
