HONG KONG: The Securities And Futures Commission of Hong Kong have Amended its Professional Investor Rule’s

As from July 13 the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) have implemented changes to the Securities and Futures (Professional Investor) Rules (PI Rules). The implemented changes to the PI Rules include; expanding the category of Professional investors to include holding companies, directors of holding companies must ensure that shareholders are properly informed when the company becomes a professional investor. Additionally intermediaries are required to gather confirmations to ensure that shareholders are properly informed of a holding companies status before providing services to that holding company as a professional investor.
