The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong has published FAQs on post authorization compliance issues of SFC authorized Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds. The FAQ is prepared by the Investment Products Division and aims to provide basic information to market practitioners concerning the post authorization compliance issues of SFC-authorized unit trusts and mutual funds. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Investment Products Division if in doubt on any specific issues arising from the application/interpretation of the Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds (“UT Code”). Please note that each application for authorization is considered on a case-by-case basis.
Section 1 covers FAQs in respect of the revamped post authorisation process and Section 2, other questions, including, once a fund is authorized by the SFC what its on-going requirements and documentation required for additional applications and under what circumstances and SFC-authorised fund can be suspended.
