The Securities and Futures Commission has announced in a consultation conclusions paper that, with immediate effect, certain routine Hong Kong takeovers-related announcements will no longer be required to be submitted to the Executive for comment prior to publication. The changes came following a four-week public consultation on proposals to relax the current pre-vetting requirement of certain routine announcements issued under the Codes on Takeovers and Mergers and Share Repurchases and to make miscellaneous amendments to the Codes.
