The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has issued a consultation summary proposal to enhance the post-market trading hours (T + 1).

The Hong Kong Stock Exchange has carefully considered the views of various market participants and concluded that the market generally supported the proposal to enhance the post market trading hours  and the relevant implementation timetable. Upon approval by the regulatory authorities, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited will raise the T + 1 period in three phases.

  • The first phase will extend the trading of stock index futures by 45 minutes.
  • The second and third phases will include the stock index options and extended transaction periods until 3 am.
  • The measures are subject to regulatory approval.
