On 24th January 2018, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange launched its 2018 Work Plan which details the implementation of key regulatory changes. These changes include:

The framework of these changes are based on previous consultation. These initiatives will build on the significant progress already made in HKEX’s Strategic Plan 2016-2018.
Changes which have been made to date include the launch of:
- Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect in December 2016 and a series of enhancements to the Stock Connect scheme;
- Bond Connect in July 2017;
- Various products, including Renminbi Options (USD-CNH* Options), Gold Futures and Iron Ore Futures;
