GREECE: HCMC to introduce electronic filing system for Greece short selling notifications

The Greek Hellenic Capital Market Commission has announced that it is to introduce an electronic reporting platform for the notification of Greece short selling positions under the EU Short Selling Regulation from next month, 1 May 2014.

Prior to submitting a notification for the first time, firms and individuals must register to use the service and satisfy certain documentation requirements, either in English or in Greek. Filings can be made by the position-holder or by their representative.

The documents may be submitted either as originals or as legally certified copies or as copies in pdf form to the following e-mail address: ssrs_support@cmc.gov.gr. All documents should be also sent in paper form within 5 working days starting from the opening of the account on the platform.
