The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) of France has published an instruction outlining a programme of activities, obligations and passport notifications of providers of investment services. The instruction is applicable to providers of investment services other than portfolio management companies.

Amongst other things, the instruction provides information on:

The filing of an application of approval or an extension of approval to become an authorised investment service provider in France;A detailed description of the activities of investment service providers;Obligations applicable to investment service providers;Professional conduct guidance;Statistics;Procedures for notification of freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services;Procedures for the freedom of establishment on the territory of Member States (Passport notifications).
