Type: General

The European Commission has launched a Consultation which concerns building a proportionate regulatory environment to support SME listing.

The aim of this consultation is to identify how the ‘SME Growth Market’ concept, created by MiFID II, can be further improved:

(1) The aim of the consultation is also to identify areas where the administrative burden placed on listed SMEs can be lightened

(2) and where some targeted regulatory changes could help (re)build the local ecosystems surrounding SME-dedicated exchanges

The Commission welcomes suggestions and feedback on the consultation from stock exchanges, institutional investors, consumer and investor organisations, brokers specialised in SMEs, key advisers that support SMEs through the IPO stage and other services providers specialised in SMEs. The deadline for feedback is the 26th February 2018.
