The European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) has today published its Trends in the International Fund Industry for Q2 2008.
The statistics highlight the following:
* Investment fund assets worldwide have suffered a 0.4% decrease over the quarter. Investment fund assets remained almost unchanged in the United States, while assets slightly decreased in Europe.
* Net cash flow to all funds worldwide totalled EUR 18 billion in the second quarter of 2008, down from EUR 285 billion in the first quarter of 2008.
* 42% of all investment fund assets worldwide were assets of equity funds by the end of June 2008.
* At the end of June 2008 taking into account non-UCITS, the market share of Europe in the world market reached 40%, and that of the United States 42.6%.Excluding non-UCITS, the share of Europe and the United States reached 33.5% and 47.3%, respectively.
