The Estonian Securities Depository (ESD) will be closed on 15th and 18th September. The closure has occurred due to the ESD joining TARGET2-Securities (T2S) on September 18th .

TARGET2-Securities (T2S) is a pan-European clearing platform, aimed at facilitating cross-border securities transactions in the euro area.  

In connection with the transition to the T2S billing platform, the Estonian Central Register of Securities has also closed on September 15th and September 18th  2017 . On these working days, the Estonian Central Securities Depository will not process issuer’s applications, settle stock transactions (OTC transactions are settled on 18th ) or cash payments due from securities. 

In addition the following other major changes will take place on the 15th September:

  • The Estonian Central Register of Securities (Securities and Stock Market) will merge with the Central Depository of Latvia and Lithuania. The Nasdaq CSD Societas Europaea (SE) will become its joint business name. As of 15th September 2017, the Estonian CSD will act as an Estonian branch of AS Nasdaq CSD SE.
  • The new price list will start.
