On 28th March 2018, the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA)announced that it had lowered minimum capital requirements for small and medium business (SME’S) wishing to list on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The EFSA hopes that this change will encourage more SMEs to register on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

SME’s listing for the first time on the exchange must now have capital of less than 100 million Egyptian Pounds. Previously applicants had to have equity capital between 50 million and 100 million Egyptian Pounds.

The amendments also included facilitating the transfer of restricted companies to and from the main exchange in order
