On 10th February 2016, Bolsa de Valores de Colombia (BVC) and Deposito Centralizado de Valores de Colombia (DECEVAL) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in order to execute and make decisions and/or actions required to reach an agreement regarding the possible Corporate Integration.
To advance in the MOU the Boards of Directors of the two companies appointed an Integration Committee formed by some of its members, which are duly empowered to select legal counsel of the transaction and two international investment banks, one for the valuation process and one for the Fairness Opinion.
The BVC and DECEVAL coincide on their strategic objective of working together for the development and growth of capital markets in order to position it as an international benchmark, creating value for the market and for all stakeholders.
With the possible transaction it will increase the business opportunities through the diversification of financial instruments for the investor community, as well as the financing options and risk management tools for the private sector.
