On 21st March 2018, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), published its proposals to develop and improve the exchange titled Strategic Development Planning Outline of the  Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The basis of this plan is to build a world-class exchange  which will  enhance economic and social development in China.

The main elements of these proposals are as follows:

  • Improvement in cross border services through interconnection with developed markets. SZSE believes that this will lead to the expansion of product services, cooperation in frontier markets and has an input in international industrial organizations. Importance has been placed on extending co-operation between SZSE and Hong Kong Markets through the construction of a cross-border capital service platform.
  • Build a leading system for market supervision and risk control, and constantly improve investor satisfaction and major risk prevention. By 2020, SZSE wishes to enhance its front-line regulation, improved risk monitoring, forecasting and emergency disposal capacities. This will be achieved through the normalisation of its delisting measures, improvements made to regulatory technologies and intelligence, and progress made in prevention of major risks.
  • By 2020, SZSE would have created a series of scientific and effective working institutions, and further improved the trading system; and shall keep in the front rank in terms of market scale, and system self-control, security and feasibility, ensure production safety with zero fatalities, and further automate operation and monitoring.
