The Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) has unveiled the Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE), a subsidiary that will handle energy futures trading within Shanghai`s new Free Trade Zone.
The INE will operate the SHFE`s crude oil futures contract as well as existing contracts for 180 CST high sulfur fuel oil and asphalt. In time, it will also operate contracts for other products, including natural gas and petrochemicals. The INE will function like other global exchanges and provide clearing, delivery, information distribution and technology services.
