It has been reported that China will allow foreign firms to be listed on domestic stock exchanges. Firms will be able to go public on the main board, SME board, the ChiNext board and debut on the National Equities Exchange and Quotation system.

Additionally, they will be permitted to issue corporate bonds and convertible bonds and use financing instruments of non-financial enterprises in China. The policy is part of China`s efforts to level the playing field for foreign firms as detailed in the new guidelines on further attracting foreign investment. The guidelines were approved by a State Council`s executive meeting on 3rd January 2017.

The new policy emphasises equal treatment of foreign investors, prohibits additional restriction and cancels minimum registered capital requirements for foreign-funded firms.
