On 29 March 2017. the Australian Government has closed for comment, their consultation on proposed changes to Australia`s foreign investment framework.
The consultation paper sought views from stakeholders on proposed changes in the areas of residential land, non-vacant commercial land, low sensitivity business investment and fees. The Government also sought comments on suggestions for reform, particularly in relation to technical issues in the legislation.
The final legislative package and the approach to its implementation will be determined by the Government after consideration of the comments received to the consultation.
