The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has released a Consultation paper which considers the bodies relationship with the newly created Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).

The AFCA was established on 14th February 2018, its purpose is to consider financial complaints and to conduct fair, timely and effective dispute resolution.

This consultation paper asks members of the public to propose how ASIC should monitor and oversee the activities of the AFCA. It also considers how powers should be transferred from ASIC to the AFCA.

The Consultation will last five weeks, the deadline for submissions is the 6th  April 2018.
