The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) has published a report based on its Market Integrity findings, which cover the period from January to June 2017. The Report will be of particular interest to investors as it covers key areas such as Listing Standards in the Sydney Stock Exchange Limited (SSX)

The report found that SSX needed to make a number of changes to improve compliance with its statutory obligations. These changes focused on three main issues:

  • Firstly, the need to put adequate arrangements in place to manage conflicts between its commercial interests.
  • Secondly, the need to ensure the listing market is fair and efficient in its operations.
  • Thirdly, making improvements as to how it monitors and enforces compliance with its listing rules, including whether an entity is appropriate for admission to its market.
