EUROPEAN UNION: Eurex Clearing Updates its General Rules

On 10th  January 2018, Eurex Clearing updated its General Rules. These rules outline how Eurex Clearing and Clearing Members are to perform  their Clearing and Settlement Functions. These rules also indicate how the Default Fund is to operate in terms of claims and contributions by clearing members.

On the settlement  of bearer securities the rules hold that all physical deliveries be  processed on a DVP basis. Eurex Clearing AG acts as intermediary (Besitzmittler) between Clearing Members in order to ensure that delivery is achieved on the agreed delivery day.
