The EU Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee has published an informal report on enhancing the coherence of EU financial services legislation.
In light of the transition to a single rule book in financial services across the EU, the Committee believes that it is increasingly important to ensure that legislation fits together seamlessly. The Committee held a public consultation in the first half of 2013 on possible measures to enhance the coherence of EU financial services legislation. The report includes a summary of the responses received and sets out the conclusions the Committee has drawn from the consultation and the steps it intends to take as a result.
