The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission have published a Consultation Paper regarding proposal for a CySEC Directive in relation to the categorisation of the Alternative Investment Funds established in the Republic.

The SEC under efficient supervision and consultation procedures with market participants concerning the proposed changes in national legislation, circulate this document for views submission purposes.

The SEC has prepared the Directive in order to implement Alternative Investment Law (the “Law”).

The proposed Directive is:

1. Exchange Commission Directive on the Classification of the AIF Democracy and other related issues.

The Directive determines the investment restrictions applicable to the AIF Republic, depending on the nature of the information on investing and investors
The target, techniques of efficient portfolio management, categories of AIF of the Republic, in terms of its investment objective and structure of their investments and their transparency and information rules for investors of the Republic.
