The Brazilian securities regulator the CVM has announced a new system for the registration of foreign investment in Brazil.
The new Foreign Investors System is intended for representatives of non-resident investors regulated by CVM Resolution No. 4,373 / 14 and CVM Instruction No. 325/00.
The system will bring more agility in development and cancellation of records, registration changes and referring the CVM database of representatives of non-resident investors, as well as new features. An example of this innovation is the new tool for automated provision of tax codes (CPF numbers) to new qualified investors as individuals.
This work is the result of a joint effort of the exchange BM&FBovespa, the CVM and the Federal Reserve of Brazil to reduce administrative costs and improve facilities for these investors who, under law, must enroll and register with the CVM before performing investments in the Brazilian capital market.
