The Foreign Investment Review Board has announced that the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement entered into force on 15 January 2015.

From this date, Japanese non-government investors will receive the higher monetary thresholds that are available to Chilean, Korean, New Zealand and United States non-government investors.

The indexed monetary thresholds for 2015 are $55 million for developed commercial real estate; $252 million for business proposals; and $1,094 million for Chilean, Japanese, Korean, New Zealand and United States non-government investors.
