AUSTRALIA: Consultation paper on revised guidance on Australian takeover documents

The Australian Takeovers Panel is proposing changes to takeover rules. The Panel has published a consultation paper on a revised version of Guidance Note 18 Takeover Documents.

The primary change to Guidance Note 18 relates to the accessibility of takeover documents. The Guidance Note encourages use of a summary section in takeover documents, primarily for retail shareholders, that gives an overview of the document.

Comments are to be received by 28 February 2014. Comments should be emailed to takeovers@takeovers.gov.au.
