AUSTRALIA: Australia short position reporting requirement update

With reference to an update published in March 2010 by ASIC, Short sellers are expected to have appropriate systems in place in order to meet their reporting obligations. According to the update, 1 June 2010 was the new deadline for the commencement of short seller obligations to lodge Australia short position reports. ASIC is expected to begin publishing aggregated short position reports on 21 June 2010.
