KENYA: CMA to introduce Kenya covered Kenya short selling of bonds

It is being reported that the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya is working on a plan to introduce covered Kenya short selling in bonds on the Kenyan market. This follows the introduction of an interbank repo market in 2009, with further future plans to introduce full automation of bonds settlement between the stock exchange and the Central Depository System, and introduce market makers in the bond market.
