It has been reported that as of July 5 . 2018 both the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and the Astana International Exchange (AIX) have opened. The opening was assisted with the help from the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) where they signed a co-operation agreement on jointly investing in building the (AIX).
Since General Secretary Xi Jinpeng’s aim to initiate the “Silk Road Economic Belt” supporting the development in Kazakhstan has been a major priority due to the fact it will be the first stop on the Silk Road. The creation of the AIX and AIFC will only further the advancement of Kazakhstan and development of the belt road initiative.
