The 71st meeting of JGB Market Special Participants and the 70th Meeting of JGB Investors have been held. Amongst the agenda was the shortening of the period for settlement of interest-bearing bonds (5- to 30- Year Bonds) in the months of massive redemption of previously issued bonds and of the 2-Year Bonds in each month

The Financial Bureau has explained as follows:

Secondary Market:
• Settlement will be shortened from T+2 to T+1 after May 2018

Primary Market:
General Rule – Settlement will be shortened from T+2 to T+1 after May 2018
Interest-Bearing Bonds issued in March, June, September or December – Settlement will be shortened from 20th day of auction month to T+1 after May 2018
2 Year Bonds – Settlement will be shortened from 15th day of next month of auction to 1st day of next month of auction after May 2018
