The Financial Services Agency of Japan has extended the existing temporary Japan short selling requirements until 31 October 2010. Naked short selling remains prohibited, and disclosure of short sales exceeding, in principle, 0.25%, are required to report to exchanges through securities firms. The relaxation of measures regarding the purchase of own stocks by listed companies have also been extended.
