There has been a change to the Italy short selling regime. The Italian securities regulator CONSOB has announced a temporary prohibition on short selling in the shares of Banco Popolare Sc.

The prohibition of short selling in BANCO POPOLARE shares (ISIN code: IT0004231566) on the MTA, a regulated market organised and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., under Article 23 of the EU Short Selling Regulation, shall take effect from 13.00 CET of 27 January  2014 to the end of the trading day of 28 January 2014.

The above-mentioned prohibition does not apply to the activity of market making, as defined by Article 2(1)(k) of the Regulation.
