ITALY: Final text of AIFMD legislative decree

Legislative Decree no. 58/1998 (Italian Financial Act), amongst other instruments, has been amended by the government of Italy in approving the final text of the legislative decree intended to implement the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). The legislative decree, together with an explanatory report, has been published on the Italian government’s official website. It will be published in the Italian Official Gazette and will come into force on the fifteenth day following the publication date.

It is expected that the Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB) and the Bank of Italy will soon publish relevant provisions detailing the framework introduced by the legislative decree.
