ITALY: Consob temporarily prohibits Italy short selling in Banca Carige, Intesa Sanpaolo

Consob has announced a prohibition of Italy short selling in Banca Carige shares (ISIN code: IT0003211601) and Intesa Sanpaolo shares (ISIN code: IT0000072618) on the MTA, a regulated market organised and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A. The prohibitions are in place until the end of the trading day on February 27, 2013.

The prohibition does not apply to the activity of market making, as defined by Article 2(1)(k) of the EU Short Selling Regulation.
