The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) reached a consensus with Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges on adjusting the inclusion arrangements for eligible securities for Stock Connects Southbound trading. The meeting showed that the three exchanges share the same objective in improving and enhancing Stock Connect, with the goal to continue its future development and growth.
Furthermore the meeting also highlighted the need to consider both the regulation and maturity of the market when including weighted voting rights (WVR) in the list of eligible securities for Southbound trading under Stock Connect.
Lastly the exchanges jointly agreed to create a working group to calculate specific plan’s and rules for including WVR into the list of eligible securities in Stock Connect trading.
