The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) have announced that the existing requirement of obtaining registration as a stock broker or clearing member for each stock exchange/clearing corporation has been removed and replaced with single registration with any stock exchanges/ clearing corporation.
A new entity seeking to act as a stock broker or clearing member is required to apply to SEBI through the respective stock exchange or clearing corporation in the manner prescribed in the broker regulations
